Valparaiso Water Line Repairs & Repiping

Enjoy Clean, Rust Free Clear Water

If your water supply is yellowish or brown in color, this could be an indication of old, deteriorating pipes. For those who live in older homes or buildings, this type of problem is simply unavoidable. Unless the previous owner has told you that they’ve replaced their plumbing before you move in, it is likely that you are still using the same old pipes that were installed from way back.

To give you an idea on the actual age of your pipes and to determine if a pipe replacement is needed, here is a list of the most commonly used pipes and their lifespans:

  • Brass- 80 to 100 years
  • Copper- 70 to 80 years
  • Galvanized steel- 80 to 100 years

While galvanized pipes have a long lifespan, the zinc coating of the pipes can erode over time and cause the iron pipes to rust. This then can result in corrosive water that poses some health risks. Additionally, if your home or building was built during the 1900s, you may also want to check if you have lead pipes. This type of pipe has a lifespan of up to 100 years, but they should be replaced no matter what as they can leak lead into your drinking water which is a serious health hazard.

Experience Powerful Water Pressure

Low water pressure is often the result of one or more clogged pipes. As older galvanized pipes age, rust and corrosion build up on the inside of the pipes and slows the flow of water. A small hole or crack in the pipes is also a possible cause. Our Valparaiso plumbers can provide fast, reliable water line repair or replacement for your home. We can schedule this at your most convenient time or during the middle of the day when fewer people are at home so there will be less or no interruption to your water supply.

Copper Water Line Repair & Replacement

In replacing your pipes, we highly recommend the use of copper pipes. Considered to be the gold standard for plumbing, copper pipes are known for their high resistance to corrosion so you can expect powerful water pressure for the next 70 to 80 years.

Benefits of copper pipes include:

  • Copper is nontoxic; it is a natural material that has been proven safe for your health
  • Copper is easy to work with as it is softer and more flexible than galvanized steel
  • Copper is a non-permeable material, which means that it does not absorb other substances that it comes to contact with, protecting your water supply from other contaminants
  • Copper is durable; it won’t melt, burn, or give toxic fumes despite being exposed to high temperatures
  • Add value to your property

Our Valparaiso plumbing experts can provide a detailed estimate of either a partial or complete copper pipe replacement to your home or commercial space to ensure fair pricing. As a seasoned plumbing company with over three decades of experience, we assure you that you are getting the best value for your hard-earned money with copper plumbing.
